As an invitee
If you are invited to someone else's meeting, you can simply join through your Chrome, Edge or Safari browser without an account. There's nothing to download or install, nor do you need to register. The only action you need to take is to click on the meeting invitation link that the meeting organizer sent you (via email, text app, etc.) to join the meeting. Alternatively, you can copy the invitation link into your browser's address field. ). A sample emailed invitation looks like the graphic below.

The link will take you the ROOM website, displaying this panel (below) requesting a user name that ROOM can use as your "virtual name tag" during the meeting, and providing a chance to select your camera and microphone before entering (in case you have more than one of each "device").
You are not obligated to enter your real name, but a name of some kind is recommended, otherwise your in-meeting personal cutout will automatically be assigned a designation such as "Guest-X".
Afterwards, you'll find yourself in your first meeting, as a guest with access to all the features and tools to explore, share and collaborate to your heart's content!
