Tool tray buttons
When you join a room, your video feed will be displayed. At the bottom center of your screen, you'll find the primary video conferencing controls: microphone, camera, and screenshare buttons.
To the right of these controls are options for chat, inviting participants, switching between wide and focused views, a menu button, and a button to leave the meeting.
The menu
The menu provides access to the user manual, full-screen mode, the participant list, a problem reporting form, and device settings where you can change other cameras and microphones available to your device. Additionally, authorized participants can start recording the meeting from this menu.
Look around
Inside Room, you are in a 3D virtual space similar to first-person action games. Room uses a game engine to create an immersive experience, allowing you to look around freely. Simply click anywhere in the room, hold the mouse button down, and drag—the room will rotate as you move.
Whiteboard
As you rotate, you’ll see a whiteboard on the wall, just like in a regular meeting room. Clicking on the whiteboard will bring it into focus, making it easier to see. Feel free to try out colored markers and our new browser app. With the browser app you can browse internet or copy and paste links to collaborate on your favorite web site.
Seat change
Since Room meetings look and feel real, you can also change your seat. Simply click on any empty chair, and you will see yourself seated in the new position.
Walking mode
You can walk in the room by pressing the Q key on the keyboard. Arrow keys, W,A,S,D keys and mouse are used to walk in different directions. Simply press the Q key again to get seated. Note that this requires a keyboard.
Wide view
We created a convenient way to see everyone in the meeting along with the whiteboard. You can press the Esc key on your keyboard to enter or exit this mode. Alternatively, you can use the menu icon in the toolbar.
Leaving the meeting
To leave a Room meeting, use the Leave icon in the bottom-right corner.
